# UEFI settings

There are some settings that need to be tweaked before booting the macOS installer, enter the UEFI (continously press F2 after turning on the computer) and from default, set the settings as mentioned:

  • UEFI Boot Path Security -> Never
  • SATA Operation -> AHCI
  • Enabled both usb boot support and external USB port
  • Thunderbolt security -> no security
  • PTT Security -> Enabled (enabled should be set by default and Windows 11 will require either TPM 1.2 or TPM 2.0 and PTT is part of an Intel SoC and is can work as firmware solution to TPM 2.0, it can be managed by Windows tpm.msc just like a discrete TPM)
  • Secure Boot Enable -> Disabled
  • Intel SGX -> Disabled
  • VT for Direct I/O -> Prefferably disabled but it can be enabled
  • Auto OS Recovery Threshold -> Disabled
  • SupportAssist OS Recovery -> Disabled
